Alice, 25, influencer and proud advocate for the importance of checking your breasts due to recent experiences.

“Around 4 years ago, I found a lump in my right breast and yeah… I was quite lazy with getting it checked, I kind of assumed it was nothing. I think just like every young person, life just gets busy…”

A few years ago, I felt a lump in my boob. Like most people would, I instantly jumped to the conclusion that it was cancer. It was quite a scary time, and I felt like I had nobody to speak to about it because I didn’t know anybody else my age who had a similar experience.

It took me a while to get the courage to get it checked, and it took 5 trips to the doctor’s to come to the conclusion that we needed to remove it.

I was lucky enough to receive negative results to a malignant tumour, however, early diagnosis does save lives, and if my story can encourage even one person to check their boob/body, and potentially save their life, my job is done.

I shared my story on Instagram a few months ago, which is what led Lounge to reach out to me about being a part of their Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Of course, I jumped at the idea! I got to meet the most inspiring group of gorgeous, empowering young ladies who all had stories to share, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the Lounge team for making this campaign happen.

My tip: know your body, check your boobs regularly, and DON'T be lazy with getting checkups. Health is EVERYTHING!
